Although Bo and another fearless feline named Stryker fend off the bloodthirsty soldiers of a bloodthirsty king in this timeless adventure, there are actually no references to cats anywhere in the Bible. And yet, throughout Egypt, cats routinely feasted on mice and vermin as well as on deadly snakes. So successful were these skilled hunters that the Egyptians saw them as embodiments of divine power. None of which seemed to have any influence on the Jewish population, even though the land of Israel was under Egyptian rule for centuries. If there were cats in ancient Israel serving as mousers, there is no proof of their existence…until now!
