While much of what is written in this book is fictional, Bo is the real deal. So are the circumstances that led to his move from a tidy Canadian town in SW Ontario to the sprawling Bay area of Northern California. That trip is a story in and of itself. It happened on Super Bowl Sunday during a fierce snowstorm that blanketed Metro Airport in Detroit causing numerous flight delays across the country. By the time Bo and I made it to our connecting destination in Phoenix, the flight to Oakland had already departed and the line to rebook was a mile long. We were stuck…until a smiling gate attendant with Delta Airlines rode to the rescue. She worked her magic and somehow managed to get us on a flight an hour later. Had she sprouted wings and a halo, I would not have been surprised.
